God bless America on this Memorial Day weekend.  

      Every holiday has its own unique theme, meaning and emotion.   Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, July 4th, Veterans Day,  and Memorial Day are all very important dates on the American calendar.  Each represents a very important moment in American history and culture,  and arouses  deep spiritual and national emotions.
       But no holiday raises emotions quite like Mother’s Day.  It’s hard to explain.  Just simply say the word “mother” and it happens.  The emotions appear.  A tear, a chuckle, a memory, they just instantly appear.  Over the years you have grown to understand the struggles, sacrifices and efforts that she made for you.  Yes, it’s a unique day:  “Mother’s Day”.
      I invite you and your family to join us this Sunday at First Assembly as we honor our mothers.  Here are some events of the day:
-A flower for each mother present
-A moment of honor for your mother
-A family Photo Booth available for pictures
-Honoring of some special ladies of our congregation
