This Sunday, July 31, my Sunday sermon will be entitled “The Ministry of the Apostle Paul”. I look forward to discovering with you the many ways God used the Apostle Paul to build his kingdom. I believe you will find this study to be very interesting and challenging.
This weekend our thoughts and prayers are extended to those who have suffered loss and damage with the severe flooding. Some areas have suffered greatly. We are praying for you and your family. May God richly bless you and I look forward to seeing you Sunday at 10:00 AM. -Pastor Jeff Carico

Joses (called Barnabas by the apostles) was an instrumental leader, influencer and worker in the first century church. Two writers of the New Testament scriptures were heavily influenced by Barnabas, the Apostle Paul and Mark. Both Paul and Mark accomplished great feats in the first century church because of the influence and encouragement of Barnabas. The church world as we know it would not exist without the work of Barnabas.
Barnabas is one of many who have given their time, talents and energy to the work of the advancement of the Kingdom of God. I look forward to sharing a Sunday sermon entitled “Barnabas, The Son Of Encouragement”. See you Sunday at 10:00 AM! 🙂 -Pastor Jeff Carico Many people will work their entire career and will always be a line worker. They will never be the boss, have their name on a door or own a company. A line worker is not the person in charge but someone who works “down the line” of command. They are a line worker.
Line workers are incredibly important to a company or business. Their quality of work defines a company. With quality workers a company can produce a quality product and satisfy their customers. Without quality workers any company is doomed for failure. It’s that simple! The Bible is full of line workers. People who’s names are not remembered or easily recognized but were essential for the work of the Gospel in their day. Sunday we will be introduced to five line workers of the New Testament: Epaphroditus, Euodia, Syntyche, Clement, and Tychicus. Ever heard of them? See what I mean! You will enjoy and be challenged by this study of God’s Word! See you Sunday morning at 10:00 AM! -Pastor Jeff Carico This Sunday First Assembly will welcome Missionary David Cheromei and family as guest to our 10:00 AM Worship Service. David and his family will be leaving in August to return to full time residence in Kenya. During David’s college career at Virginia Intermont College he attended First Assembly and considers First Assembly to be his home church. We look forward to praying a “prayer of commission” as we bless David and his family to the work in Kenya. God is doing great things through David and we as a church are proud to share in this ministry.
I look forward to seeing everyone this Sunday at 10:00 AM! -Pastor Carico This weekend our nation will celebrate it’s national freedom. In honor of Independence Day we will dedicate a new flag and renew our commitment and appreciation for our freedom. The flag that we dedicate is certified to have flown over the Capitol building in Washington D.C.. Our Sunday Worship Service will include patriotic music and prayers for the nation.
We also will be giving honor and appreciation to Jesus for our spiritual freedom. Freedom always comes at a high price. A very high price. The price of our spiritual forgiveness and salvation was paid by Jesus as he died on Calvary’s cross. The Bible tells us that if we believe the Gospel story and confess Jesus as the way of salvation we shall be saved. Thank God for our spiritual freedom. The title of my Sunday sermon will be “What Happens When A Christian Dies?”. What will that moment be like? Have you ever thought about it? I’m sure we all have. Sunday we will study scriptures that give us a glimpse into that moment. See you Sunday at 10:00 AM. -Pastor Jeff Carico |
