The title of my Sunday sermon will be "Who Am I Speaking With?". In last week's sermon the theme was establishing communication with God through the Bible and prayer. This week's sermon begins the process of defining with whom we are speaking: God!
I know you will find this sermon to be a challenge. I encourage you and your family to be a part! God bless and see you Sunday! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA

Yesterday's sermon looked at communication as an essential element of a relationship. God wants to have a relationship with mankind, therefore it is essential that we communicate with God on a regular basis!
God communicates with mankind through his word (the Bible), and we communicate with God through prayer. At the end of the sermon I issued a challenge for our congregation. Would you like to join with us in the journey? 1. Give God 15 minutes a day, at least 5 day of the week. 2. Read the Bible (an average of 4 chapters a day) 3. Pray out loud 4. Use the Lord's Prayer as a guide in how to pray (Matthew 6: 9-14) There are very few things I will give a guarantee for, but I do guarantee that if you do these things on a regular basis you will establish communication with God! The journey will be exciting! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA This Sunday's sermon will be entitled "Let's Talk". Last Sunday's sermon explored God's desire to communicate with mankind, and began describing this process of communication. This Sunday's sermon will emphasize the subject of prayer.
Communication is the foundation of any relationship. Come and take the journey with us as we "talk with God, and he talks with us". See you Sunday! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA Yesterday's sermon entitled "Let's Talk" explored God's desire to communicate and have an ongoing relationship with mankind. Yes, God desires to talk with us!
The primary means of God's communication with mankind is through his word, the Bible. Our primary means of communication with God is pray. I am asking our congregation to join with me in a week's journey of communication with God by doing two things: 1. Read the Gospel of John (4 chapters a day) 2. Respond by praying As we read and pray, communication will be established. It's going to be exciting! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA The title of my Sunday sermon will be "Let's Talk Awhile". Scripture shows us that from the very beginning God has talked with mankind. My Sunday sermon will explore this interesting characteristic of the nature of God. God wants to talk with us!
See you Sunday! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA Sunday's sermon entitled "It's A Choice" examined the choices we make in life. Our life will be defined as the total accumulation of the choices we make.
The greatest choice anyone will ever make is to receive Jesus Christ as their personal savior. The Bible describes this decision as being "born again". Every person has the opportunity to start over, to have a new beginning, to receive a fresh start. Wow, what an opportunity! As we walk with Christ I encourage everyone to continue to make choices based upon the teachings of God's Word, the Bible. The Psalmist described God's Word as a "lamp for his feet and a light for his path" (Psalm 119:105). Amen! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA This Sunday my sermon will be entitled "It's A Choice" and will examine the choices we make in life. Life is an accumulation of choices, and the Bible gives many examples of those who made choices. Some made good choices, some made bad choices, and all choices had consequences.
Thank God for the choice of the grace, mercy and forgiveness of God offered through Jesus Christ. That is the best choice a person will ever make! I look forward to seeing you and your family in the House of God this Sunday! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA Yesterday's sermon entitled "Jesus Did The Work For Us" reminded us that the work of Calvary paid the debt for our salvation. Today we celebrate a national holiday honoring the hard work of the American laborer. Every day should be a day of celebration for the Christian as we remember the work Jesus did for us at Calvary!
