Yesterday I continued the sermon series "Our Journey To Pentecost" with Jesus' resurrection appearance in Galilee recorded in John 21. As Jesus appears to seven disciples while they are fishing he recommissions Peter to his ministry call. Peter needed this assurance and confidence booster. Peter is reassured that even after his denials during the crucifixion that the grace of God has fully restored him to the work of God.
God has a work for you also. He isn't finished with you. God's grace is sufficient to forgive the sins of your past! Your future is a future of God's love, mercy, grace and forgiveness! Amen! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA

This Sunday I will continue the sermon series "Our Journey To Pentecost". We will continue to examine the resurrection appearances of Jesus as he moves toward his ascension. Following his ascension the disciples will experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2).
I invite you to come and take the journey with us! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA Yesterday we continued the sermon series "Our Journey To Pentecost" as we walk the 50 day period between Passover and Pentecost. The first 40 days of the journey Jesus shows himself alive with resurrection appearances. The first day resurrection appearances includes:
-Appearance to Mary Magdalene -Appearance to the women who came to the tomb -Appearance to the Apostle Peter -Appearance to two disciples on the road to Emmaus -Appearance to the Disciples The resurrection appearances were designed to convince those who saw and touched him that he was alive. Without any shadow of any doubt, they were convinced that Jesus was risen from the dead! Amen! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA Sunday I will continue the sermon series "Our Journey To Pentecost" as we travel the 7 week period between Passover and Pentecost. For 40 days following the resurrection Jesus showed himself alive to verify the truth of the resurrection. This Sunday we will continue our look at his resurrection appearances the evening of the resurrection.
I look forward to sharing our worship experience together this Sunday at First Assembly! -Pastor Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA Yesterday's sermon series "Our Journey To Pentecost" focused on the resurrection appearances of Mary Magdalene and the Apostle Peter. Mary was the first person to the tomb, putting her in the "right place at the right time" to see the resurrected Lord. For Peter, I believe the resurrection appearance to him was intentional. Peter needed the assurance and affirmation of Jesus!
