Sunday we begin our celebration of the Christmas Season with the beginning of a sermon series entitled "The Journey To Bethlehem". The theme of this week's sermon will be "The Christ of Christmas". Who is Jesus? This week will be a close look at the Saviour who was born in Bethlehem. I believe you will be challenged by this study in God's Word!

The title of yesterday's sermon was "A Time Of Transition". This is a season of transition: Fall to Winter, Thanksgiving to Christmas, trips for holiday visits and company, work and family related seasonal events, just to name a few.
Life is full of transition. Transition brings change, insecurity and challenge. How do we cope with transition and it's baggage? Psalm 121 gives us the answer. God is maker of Heaven and Earth, he never sleeps, his foot never slips, he gives us shade, comfort, rest and relief, and he protects us from harm. With God's help we will not only survive transition, but prosper during the process! God bless, Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA This Sunday, November 26, my sermon title will be "A Time of Transition". As we make the transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas, we are reminder of the many transitions that life contains.
Transition can bring many challenges and uncomfortable moments. Yet, I can say "amen" with the sentiments of David: "I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread". Be of good cheer, God is faithful! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA Yesterday I asked the question "What is the spiritual state of America?" As we approach the national holiday of Thanksgiving, I felt it was a good time to assess our national spiritual condition. As a basis for our spiritual assessment, the 10 commandments were used.
As Christians we believe the Word of God, the Bible, to be the source for all spiritual truth. Anyone who builds their life on the Word of God is building on a solid spiritual foundation! The same is true for a nation. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. May you enjoy a holiday of peace, happiness, and the blessings of God! Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA This Sunday the title of my sermon will be "A Clear Direction". God's Word gives us a clear direction, a clear instruction for life and eternity. As an individual, as a family, and as a nation, we are given clear directions for travel in God's Word.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday in God's house of worship! See you there! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA Yesterday I continued the sermon series "Worship" with an emphasis on "Being Thankful For Spiritual Gifts and Callings". We also had the great honor of celebrating water baptism with six baptismal candidates during the 10:50 Worship Service.
I encourage you to verbalize your thanksgiving to God for the incredible fellowship we call the church. -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA Sunday I will continue the sermon series "Worship" with the theme "Being Thankful For Spiritual Gifts And Callings". The church is greatly diverse and immensely detailed. Yet, God has provided for all acts of service and worship by equipping the church with spiritual gifts and callings! Wow, what a God!
Our 10:50 AM Worship Service will have the great pleasure of participating with water baptismal candidates as they are baptized. See you Sunday! -Pastor Carico First Assembly of God 1400 Lee Highway Bristol, VA Worship Services: 9:00 AM & 10:50 AM Yesterday we looked at the Bible's emphasis on "Being Thankful" as an essential aspect of our worship. Here are some steps we can take to develop a spirit of thanksgiving:
-Determine to develop a spirit of thanksgiving -Be totally convinced on Romans 8:28 -Vocalize your thanksgiving -Thank God for His character and His work (Jehovah names of God, His kingdom work and His Church) -Begin naming your blessings Our challenge this week is to begin to vocalize our thanksgiving to God, and to ask God to show us a way to show our thanksgiving as we enter the Thanksgiving Holiday Season. Take the journey, God is waiting! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA Sunday I will continue the sermon series "Worship" with the theme of "Being Thankful For Spiritual Gifts and Callings". The Holy Spirit has fully equipped the Church for worship and service! You will enjoy this study!
I look forward to seeing you Sunday! Come expecting! Come excited! Come ready to worship! -Pastor Jeff Carico First Assembly of God Bristol, VA |
