Sermon Reflection, May 7, 2018

     Yesterday we continued our journey to Pentecost Sunday with the sermon series "Our Journey To Pentecost".   Yesterday's emphasis was on the ascension of Jesus and his promise to send the Holy Spirit.
      Following the ascension 120 of Jesus' disciples waited in Jerusalem for the Festival of Pentecost.   When the day of the Pentecost festival arrived God fulfilled his promise of sending the Holy Spirit!  (Acts 2).
       The outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost marks the beginning of the New Testament church.  That church has lasted and thrived for 21 centuries.  Millions, if not billions, have been "born again" and added to this church.  This New Testament church continues to thrive today!
